by Pima Community College women’s basketball player Shauna Bribiescas (Navajo) nearly averaged a double-double last week as she helped the Aztecs clinched the No. 1 seed for the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament.
- Bribiescas, a sophomore forward, earned her second nod as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week this season for the week of Feb. 18-24.
- She averaged 23.5 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists as the Aztecs earned victories against Chandler-Gilbert Community College and Phoenix College. She had 26 points and 12 rebounds against the Coyotes.
- Bribiescas is averaging 16.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists on the season and has nine double-doubles to her credit.
The Aztecs close out the regular season tonight at Glendale Community College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
