CooXooEli Black (Arapaho) Named to NABC Honors Court

Three members of the Colorado College men’s basketball team were recognized for their outstanding efforts in the classroom during the 2018-19 academic year by earning a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court.
 
Recent graduate Edmund Pendleton, along with rising seniors CooXooEli Black (Arapaho) and Eric Jones, were honored for recording a grade-point average of at least 3.2.Pendleton earned the award for the second year in a row, while Black and Jonas were recognized for the first time.

To be eligible, student-athletes must be a varsity player of junior or senior standing, with at least one year at their current institution.

Thanks in part to their efforts, CC earned the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the fifth year in a row and the sixth time in seven years.

Located in Kansas City, Mo., the NABC was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the legendary University of Kansas basketball coach. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as guardians of the game.

The NABC has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men’s basketball coaches.
