The Eastern Florida State College women’s basketball team got off to a fast start, defeating Georgia Highlands 84-77 Monday afternoon at the Lady Jet Holiday Classic in Americus, Georgia.
The 25th-ranked Titans were up seven after the first quarter and 17 at halftime as they improved to 12-3 on the season.
Sophomore Skye Williams finished with a team-high 21 points while Milan Schimmel (Umatilla) had 20 points, six rebounds and six assists. Teammate Stephanie Torres added 14 and Anja Knoflach had 13 in the win.
The Titans will wrap up the Lady Jet Holiday Classic at noon Tuesday when they play No. 1 Gulf Coast State College.
