CHICOPEE, Mass.- The Eastern Nazarene College women’s basketball team earned its fourth win in a row with a 73-59 victory at Elms Wednesday evening.
The Lions improve to 4-0 on the season with the win while the Blazers fall to 2-1 overall.
Nahatabaa Nacona (Chinle, Ariz.) netted a team-high 12 points off the bench while also grabbing five rebounds. Janelle Jiron (Granada Hills, Calif.) and Sydni Oviatt (Fruit Heights, Utah) each finished with 10 points. Alondra Jimenez (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Moira Phillips (Middlesex, N.J.), and Delany Walker (Nampa, Idaho) all chipped in with eight points.
The guests clung to a slim one-point edge, 21-20, after the first quarter of action.
Eastern Nazarene erupted for 26 points in the second period while limiting the home side to just nine points to hold a 47-29 advantage at the break.
Both teams tallied 15 points in the third as the Lions carried an 18-point lead into the fourth quarter, 62-44.
The visitors outscored Elms 17-9 in the final 10 minutes of play to lock up their fourth win of the year.
The Lions finished with a field-goal percentage of 45.3% while draining 4-of-10 three-point attempts on the night. The Blazers shot 28.6% from the floor and connected on 2-of-7 from behind the arc in the game.
McKenzie Huria paced Elms with nine points while Angelica Peguero-Flores poured in eight points and Rahmia Johnston added seven points off the bench.
