CHICAGO, Ill. – The Green Bay women’s basketball team used a balanced scoring attack to put away the UIC Flames on Saturday, 75-38. All 11 players that got on the floor for the Phoenix scored.
The Phoenix (8-5, 4-3) had three players score in double figures, led by Cassie Schiltz, who had 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Hailey Oskey (Oneida) tacked on 12 points and Brooklyn Blackburn chipped in as well with 10 points.
The Green Bay defense caused its share of mistakes in Saturday’s game, forcing 14 UIC turnovers while committing only six on the offensive end. Those takeaways turned into 20 points on the other end of the floor. Schiltz’s three steals led the way individually for the Phoenix. GB was a problem for UIC on the glass, as the Phoenix collected 25 offensive rebounds in the game.
