by A memorable senior day game for Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) Xavier Littlehead (Cheyenne/Navajo) has earned the guard the final Continental Athletic Conference men’s basketball Player of the Week award for the 2021-22 season.
Littlehead made nine 3-point field goals for 29 points against Bacone College (Oklahoma) in the Fighting Indians’ 106-90 home victory last Saturday.
Making the game more noteworthy is that Bacone is coached by Xavier’s father, Ruben, and has his younger brother, Ruben Jr., on the team.
The guard/forward from Lame Deer, Montana, concluded the regular season averaging 13.6 points per game and making 65 of his 3-point field goals while starting 19 of Haskell Indian Nations’ 20 games. He shot 38.7% from behind the 3-point arc for the season.
