Shantashia John (Mississippi Choctaw) Named Collegiate Conference of the South Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – Shantashia John (Mississippi Choctaw) of the Belhaven University Women’s Basketball team was named the Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Week following her performance on the court last week. Belhaven defeated Millsaps 88-74 last Tuesday night inside a packed out Rugg Arena.

Shantashia led the Blazers with 38 points, shot 6-for-13 from behind the arc, and shot 92.3 percent from the charity stripe in the season opening game for the Green and Gold. John also tallied four rebounds, two assists, two steals, and went 10-for-19 from the field.
