by The qualifying teams and quarterfinal matchups have been announced for the 2023 Continental Athletic Conference women’s basketball championship tournament taking place February 24-26 at Haskell Indiana Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.
Defending tournament champion Iowa Wesleyan University is the top seed and will open the three-day event with a quarterfinal matchup against No. 8 seed Bacone College (Oklahoma) on Friday, February 24.
Other first-day games feature No. 3 seed Washington Adventist University (Maryland) playing No. 6 seed Florida National University; No. 4 seed Crowley’s Ridge College (Arkansas) facing No. 5 seed Arkansas Baptist College; and No. 2 seed Haskell Indian Nations against No. 7 seed Northern New Mexico College.
Friday’s winning teams will advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, February 25, with games scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The tournament championship game is set for Sunday, February 26, at 2 p.m.
The two teams vying for the championship will earn the CAC’s automatic bids to the NAIA national championship tournament.
