Haskell Indian Nations University Women’s Basketball Earns the No. 2 Overall Seed for the CAC Conference Tournament hosted by Haskell

The qualifying teams and quarterfinal matchups have been announced for the 2023 Continental Athletic Conference women’s basketball championship tournament taking place February 24-26 at Haskell Indiana Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.

Defending tournament champion Iowa Wesleyan University is the top seed and will open the three-day event with a quarterfinal matchup against No. 8 seed Bacone College (Oklahoma) on Friday, February 24.

Other first-day games feature No. 3 seed Washington Adventist University (Maryland) playing No. 6 seed Florida National University; No. 4 seed Crowley’s Ridge College (Arkansas) facing No. 5 seed Arkansas Baptist College; and No. 2 seed Haskell Indian Nations against No. 7 seed Northern New Mexico College.

Friday’s winning teams will advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, February 25, with games scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The tournament championship game is set for Sunday, February 26, at 2 p.m.

The two teams vying for the championship will earn the CAC’s automatic bids to the NAIA national championship tournament.

Friday, February 24 (Quarterfinals)

Game 1: No. 3 Washington Adventist vs. No. 6 Florida National, 8 a.m.

Game 2: No. 1 Iowa Wesleyan vs. No. 8 Bacone, 11:30 a.m.

Game 3: No. 4 Crowley’s Ridge vs. No. 5 Arkansas Baptist, 3 p.m.

Game 4: No. 2 Haskell Indian Nations vs. No. 7 Northern New Mexico, 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, February 25 (Semifinals)

Game 5: Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 3, 2:30 p.m.

Game 6: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 4, 6:30 p.m.

Sunday, February 26 (Championship)

Game 7: Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 6, 2 p.m.
