E’lease Stafford (Navajo) Finishes with 11 Points for Kanas City who drop home game to South Dakota State

KANSAS CITY, Mo – A low-scoring third quarter set Kansas City Women’s Basketball (7-21, 3-14 Summit) back against South Dakota State (24-5, 17-0 Summit) falling in an 86-52 game. The Roos were led by Manna Mensah who scored 15 points and E’Lease Stafford with 11. Sanaa’ St. Andre had nine points off the bench.

South Dakota State maintained an efficient offensive approach finishing 54.8% from the field on 62 attempts. The Roos’ drought continued with only a 37.9% shooting clip. On top of this, a 20-point scoring swing in the third quarter opened up the Jackrabbits to coast with a 35-point lead.

  • The Roos shot 45.5% from the three-point line in the first half making 5-of-11 attempts compared to SDSU shooting 50%.
  • The Jackrabbits shot high-percentage shots with 40 of their 86 points coming from the paint.
  • The Roos lost the rebounding battle by a margin of minus-10 (24-34)
  • KC gave up 15 second chance points off nine SDSU offensive boards.
