RaeQuan Battle (Tulalip Tribe) Earns Co-Big 12 Player of the Week Honors

Texas Tech’s Pop Isaacs and West Virginia’s RaeQuan Battle shared Big 12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week while Iowa State’s Keshon Gilbert picked up Newcomer of the Week. Battle was recognized for the second consecutive week while Gilbert earned his second honor of the season.
 
Isaacs scored a career-high 28 points and had four assists in a 36-point win over Sam Houston and followed with 21 points in an 85-57 victory over North Alabama. He made a season-high five 3-pointers vs. SHSU and was 10-of-19 from the field. The sports management student is now leading Tech with 15.8 points per game this season along with averaging 3.4 assists. He has scored in double figures in four consecutive games.
 
Battle recorded his first career double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds along with three steals in WVU’s overtime loss against Ohio State. He is averaging 27.3 points in the three games he has played in for the Mountaineers after scoring 29 in each of the first two. Battle is pursuing a Regents Bachelor of Arts degree.
