Paragould, Ark – The Haskell Indian Nations University women’s basketball traveled to Arkansas to take on Crowley’s Ridge College for their second conference game of the season and picked up the 89-79 road win.
The Lady Indians took an early lead in the first quarter and never trailed after that moment. Haskell would go on to take an 8-point lead into the half-time break, which proved to be the big difference maker as Haskell only outscored CRC by two points in the two final quarters but with their first-half effort, the Indians were able to claim the double-digit victory. Another key stat in the contest was the bench scoring as Haskell rallied 37 points from their reserves compared to Crowley’s 11 points. The Lady Indians improve to (4-13) on the season and (1-1) in conference play.
Leading the way for Haskell was Marilyn Goodman who had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, she also dished out 5 assist along with 3 steals in the contest. Miracle Spotted Bear finished not to far behind with 15 points of her own, followed by Payton Tahahwah with 13 and Mahpiya Irving with 11 to round out the double-digit scorers.
Haskell will host Baptist Bible College on Thursday, January 11th at Coffin Sports Complex in Lawrence, Kansas. Tip-Off is scheduled for 5:00 PM CST.
