MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The Oklahoma State wrestling team wrapped up its busy weekend with a commanding 29-9 victory over No. 20 West Virginia at WVU Coliseum on Sunday afternoon. OSU remained undefeated at 7-0 on the year, as the Mountaineers dropped to 8-2.
The Cowboys won seven of ten matches on the day en route to their 17th-straight victory over West Virginia. OSU has won five straight duals on the road, four coming against ranked opponents, to continue its perfect start to the season.
With the win, head coach John Smith now trails Harold Nichols by just nine wins at 483 for second-most in Division I wrestling history.
For the second time this weekend, Troy Spratley and Daton Fix came out firing with a pair of bonus point victories. Spratley dominated Jace Schafer to win by major decision, 12-1, while Fix picked up a 19-4 technical fall over David Rhoads in just 3:43.
Tagen Jamison then faced ninth-ranked Jordan Titus in a top-10 matchup at 141 pounds. Jamison jumped out front with a first period takedown, which was ultimately enough to take the match, 4-2. The redshirt freshman now boasts four wins over top-10 opponents this season and owns a 14-3 record overall
