Summer Grubs (Choctaw) Named Western Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week

The Grand Canyon track and field team added an eighth WAC weekly outdoor award with Summer Grubbs taking the women’s field award.

GCU senior Summer Grubbs took the WAC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week honor after a conference-leading heptathlon performance of 5344 points last week in Tucson, Arizona. Grubbs mark takes ninth in the west region and 14th in the NCAA.  

The Lopes will next head to Azusa, California for the Bryan Clay Invitational, where GCU will have an elite group competing. The rest of the squad will compete in the Glendale CC Invitational.
