Crownpoint, NM – April 19, 2024 -The Navajo Technical University women’s basketball team has signed another player ready to take on the challenge of the court. Alfrearosa Reid has signed on with NTU on this day, and she will pursue her path toward earning her degree in our NTU Nursing programs.
After signing on, Miss Reid expressed wonder and excitement: ” My clans are Tsenjikini, Tabaaha, Ta’neeszahnii, and Naakai dine. I’m the daughter of Alvita Reid, and I heard about NTU through school counselors and social media. I will graduate from Ganado High School this year and look forward to learning and playing basketball with NTU.”
Women’s head basketball coach Aanor Louis stated, “We are excited to welcome Rosa to NTU. This is great for NTU Women’s Basketball and Navajo representation. We are creating a robust program and can’t wait to showcase Native American women in sports.”
The NTU Women’s Basketball team is a part of the USCAA. These student-athletes are dedicated to competing at the collegiate level while leading an active lifestyle. The Collegiate program at NTU strives to provide students with a positive platform to play college basketball and receive a solid education to meet the country’s workforce demands. The team plans to compete yearly in the USCAA National Tournament in Richmond, VA.
