by SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota cross country runner Eliana Malnourie (Arikara/Hidasta/Ojibwe/Cochiti Pueblo) was selected as the Summit League Women’s Cross Country Peak Performer of the Week, the league offices announced Tuesday afternoon.
Malnourie paced the Fighting Hawks in the women’s 5K at the Ron Pynn Classic and finished third with a personal-best time of 17:54.5. Malnourie was the top runner attached to a team to finish at the meet. Malnourie’s finish helped NoDak claim the team title and all of the top 17 finishers in the women’s 5K at the meet were either current Fighting Hawks, unattached Hawks or former UND student-athletes.
North Dakota will have this weekend off before visiting Moorhead, Minn., for the Dragon Twilight on Friday, Sept. 13.
