by Crownpoint, NM – On September 17, 2024, Oraias Begay officially committed to the NTU Men’s Basketball team, signing his letter of intent. Hailing from Ganado, AZ, Oraias was joined by Coach Michael McMillan during the signing.
Oraias recently graduated from Ganado High School, where he excelled in basketball. He is majoring in Welding, a field he has been passionate about since high school, and looks forward to applying his skills after his basketball career. His dedication and performance during summer tryouts earned him an offer from Coach McMillan. Oraias shared, “Initially, adapting to the collegiate pace was challenging, but it soon became routine.”
Coach McMillan is enthusiastic about the upcoming season and the roster of talented local players. NTU will kick off its preseason with a game against Eastern Arizona College on October 3rd at the Wildcat Den in Chinle, AZ. The team will then enter the regular season, with a schedule of games against colleges and universities across the Southwest to be announced soon.
