Haskell Indian Nations University Women’s Basketball Earn No. 2 Seed for Continental Athletic Conference Championship Tournament

Haskell men’s basketball is the No. 7 seed 

The Continental Athletic Conference has announced the six teams and seeds along with the schedule for next week’s 2025 Women’s Basketball Championship Tournament being hosted by Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.

Northern New Mexico College has garnered the top seed, while tournament host Haskell Indian Nations stands as the No. 2 seed. Both received first round byes in the three-round, five-game tournament.

Washington Adventist University (Maryland) stands as the No. 3 seed and Carolina University (North Carolina) will be making its CAC postseason debut as the No. 4 seed. Another tournament newcomer is Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) as the No. 5 seed. Florida National University rounds out the tournament field as the No. 6 seed.

Quarterfinal round games are scheduled on Thursday, February 27, with Washington Adventist playing Florida National at 1 p.m., followed by Carolina facing Spartanburg Methodist at 5 p.m.

Northern New Mexico will face the winner of the Carolina-Spartanburg Methodist game in the first semifinal on Saturday, March 1. Haskell Indian Nations plays the winner of the Washington Adventist-Florida National contest.

The two semifinal round winners will square off for the conference title on Sunday, March 2, at 4 p.m. All game times are in the central time zone throughout the tournament.

Game 1: No. 3 Washinton Adventist vs. No. 6 Florida National, 1 p.m.

Game 2: No. 4 Carolina vs. No. 5 Spartanburg Methodist, 5 p.m.

Saturday, March 1 – Semifinal Round

Game 3: No. 1 Northern New Mexico vs. Winner of Game 2, TBD

Game 4: No. 2 Haskell Indian Nations vs. Winner of Game 1, TBD

Sunday, March 2 – Championship Game

Game 5: Winner of Game 3 vs. Winner of Game 4, 4 p.m.

2025 CAC Men’s Basketball Tournament Field Announced

The Continental Athletic Conference has announced the eight teams and seeds along with the schedule for next week’s 2025 Men’s Basketball Championship Tournament, being hosted by Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.

Defending champion Florida College will be the top seed when tournament play begins on Thursday, February 27. Arkansas Baptist College has been selected the No. 2 seed, followed by Washington Adventist University (Maryland) and Fisher College (Massachusetts) as the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds, respectively.

Northern New Mexico stands as the No. 5 seed while Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) makes its CAC postseason debut as the No. 6 seed. Tournament host Haskell Indian Nations is the No. 7 seed and another league newcomer, Carolina University (North Carolina), rounds out the postseason field as the No. 8 seed.

Quarterfinal games on Thursday, February 27, will have Florida College facing Carolina at 3 p.m., followed by Arkansas Baptist playing Haskell Indian Nations at 7 p.m.

The quarterfinal round continues Friday, February 28, with Washington Adventist playing Spartanburg Methodist at 3 p.m. and Fisher facing Northern New Mexico at 5 p.m.

The quarterfinal round winners advance to the semifinal games on Saturday, March 1. The tournament champion will be crowned on Sunday, March 2, with a game starting at 7 p.m. All game times in the four-day, seven-game tournament are in the central time zone.
