For the second time in as many matches the New Mexico State volleyball team defeated a Western Athletic Conference foe in thrilling five-set fashion as the Aggies outlasted Utah Valley 25-19, 25-27, 16-25, 25-15, 15-11 on Thursday night.
As on Saturday versus Bakersfield in Las Cruces, NM State came back from a two sets to one deficit to keep its conference-games winning streak alive. The streak now stands at 11-consecutive WAC wins dating back to last season.
The Aggies are now 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the WAC and are on a six-match winning streak, including four-straight wins on the road. The Wolverines fall to 6-10 and .500 at 1-1 in WAC play.
Bradley Nash (Navajo) led the way for the Aggies and collected her third double-double of the season and had a season-high 15 kills. She also had 12 digs in the game and 2 service aces.
The Aggies are now 9-5 overall and 3-0 in the WAC and are on a six-match winning streak.
NM State will now try to make it a 4-0 start to WAC play when they visit Seattle U in Seattle, Wash., on Saturday. The match is set for an afternoon 2 p.m. (MDT) start and can be heard live on the radio in Las Cruces on KGRT AM 570 with Adam Young on the call.
