RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Alex Tebbe and Isaiah Thompson recorded top-five finishes to lead UC Irvine in the Highlander Invitational at Riverside Saturday morning.
Tebbe placed second with a time of 17:51.8 and Thompson fifth in 18:03.7 over 6,000 meters at the UCR Agricultural Operations Course.
Nolan Del Valle finished 21st in 18:45.1, Jake Williams 26th in 18:51.2, Munir Kahssay 28th in 18:53.7, and Matt Neev 29th in 18:54.3.
Blake Wanser placed 46th (19:27.3), Eric Enriquez 68th (20:22.2) and Julian Lujan 71st (20:36.7).
Seth Totten of UC Riverside won the race in 17:27.7 to lead the Highlanders to the team title with 23 points.
UCI finished fourth with 79 points as Cal State Fullerton was second (63) and Long Beach State third (66).
The ‘Eaters compete in the Titan Invitational Friday on the Cal State Fullerton campus.
UCI returns to Riverside for the Big West Conference Championship Nov. 1.
