by RICHARDSON, Texas — Kelsey Watson‘s (Comanche Tribe) near perfect weekend earned her the Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week announced by league officials on Tuesday afternoon.
Watson pitched near flawless last weekend after recording two wins and tossing 10 1/3 innings of scoreless softball. Against Oklahoma Panhandle she was three outs away from a perfect game before giving up two hits in the bottom of the fifth.
In total, batters went .114 against her while recording 18 punch outs and no walks.
Through 13 games this season, Watson is 4-1 with 44 strikeouts in 33 2/3 innings of work.
This is her second career LSC Pitcher of the Week award, Watson was named last season following a no-hit performance at Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Cameron will play at Texas A&M-Commerce to start a four game league series starting on Friday.
