by Raheem Cowan continued his stronghold on the triple jump, winning the event at this year’s Sioux City Relays with a bound of 15.73m. He also was part of a BC contingent which dominated the open 400m. Robert Iron Shell (Rosebud Sioux) won the 400 with a 47.37, while Rusty Muncy was third (48.92), Kyle Lorenzen was fourth (49.03) and Cowan was fifth (49.28).
Iron Shell also notched a third place finish in the 200m, with a time of 21.84, while Cowan was sixth with a time of 22.03. Meanwhile, Muncy and Cowan both advanced to the finals of the 100m. Muncy clocked the third-fastest time in prelims (10.77), while Cowan was seventh (10.84). Chris Young finished seventh in the 400m hurdles and set a new school record in the process, completing the lap in 56.01.
