(NYC) – Former Alabama standout shooter Aaliyah Nye could hear her named called in the later rounds on Monday’s WNBA draft (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
This past season, Nye led the team in scoring for 10 games and recorded double-digit points in 26 out of 32 matchups. Nye made seven or more 3-pointers in four games and became Alabama’s all-time leader in 3-pointers. She was one of four players from Alabama to average over 15 points per game, surpassed 1,500 career points. Additionally, she set a single-game record for Alabama with nine 3-pointers made and her most significant accomplishment was becoming the program’s all-time leader in career 3-pointers and setting a new single-season record with 109 3-pointers, surpassing her previous mark of 108. She was also named SEC Player of the Week on Dec. 31, 2024.
The first round has 12 picks; the second and third rounds each have 13 picks. The Las Vegas Aces’ first-round selection was rescinded in 2023 after a WNBA investigation found the franchise violated league rules regarding impermissible player benefits and workplace policies.
