HOUSTON, Texas – The NM State men’s golf team finished strong on the final day at the Bayou City Collegiate Classic Tuesday afternoon at the Westwood Golf Club. The Aggies posted its best team score of the tournament with a final round score of 290 (+2). The Aggies finished in 15th with a score of 888 (+24).
Aidan Thomas (Laguna Pueblo) continued his strong tournament with a final round score of 73 (+1). Thomas finished tied for 21st with a 54-hole score of 215 (-1). This is Thomas’s third finish in the top 25 this season.
Garrison Smith ended the tournament with a final round score of 74 (+2). Smith fired a 224 (+8) over the course of three days to finish tied for 64th and posted the second-best 54-hole score among the Aggies.
Alvaro Morales posted the best final round score among Aggies with a one-under 71. Morales finished the tournament with a 54-hole score of 226 (+10).
Mauricio Figueroa also had a strong final round firing an even-par 72 to finish the tournament with a score of 227 (+11). Steven Strasheim ended the tournament with a two-over 74.
Scott Rescigno competed as an individual anf finished tied for 71st with a score of 227 (+11).
The Aggies will have a quick turnaround when they head to Bryan, Texas, for the Aggie Invitational. The teams will play 18 holes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday’s rounds are slated to begin at 7:15 a.m.
