TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Senior guard Aaliyah Nye has been named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team, the conference announced Thursday.
As a leader on and off the court, Nye, along with her teammates, played a huge role in volunteering at Alabama’s Bama Jam, where they helped welcome the new freshman to the Capstone. Nye also at the beginning of the fall semester participated in Alabama’s Halloween Extravaganza where she played games with fans and helped create a fun and safe environment for children within the surrounding area.
Nye and the Crimson Tide spent an afternoon at Capstone Village – a local residential community for residents 55-years or older right on the University’s campus – during the fall semester. The team enjoyed interacting with the residents. During the holidays, the team spent multiple hours ringing the bell for Salvation Army at the Tuscaloosa’s local mall to help raise donations for the organization.
