KANSAS CITY – Kansas City (2-1) took care of business against William Jewell (1-1) by a score of 74-32 in the Swinney Center on Saturday evening. After a close first quarter, the Roos broke off on a 28-6 run across the entirety of the second quarter. With a 28-point halftime lead, Kansas City kept the good times rolling in the second half, shooting 53% in quarters three and four and 51% from the field for the game.
Three Roos cracked double figures in points, led by Emani Bennett who totaled a team-high 13 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three blocks. Alayna Contreras and Zaire Harrell chipped in a dozen points each to contribute to the Roos’ efficient offensive night. Five Roos notched multi-steal games, with Harrell, Ana Oliveira Dias, and Alyssa Febres registering three steals each.
