Allison Richards (Oglala Lakota) Drops 34 Points for Northeast CC in Win over Central CC-Columbus

COLUMBUS, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team made the short drive to Tuesday night to Columbus, Nebraska for their final matchup before conference play against Central Community College. The Hawks dominated much of the contest and captured a 79-61 victory in the battle.

Northeast (3-5) was led on the night by Allison Richards (Pine Ridge, S.D.) in scoring as she had 25 points at halftime while shooting 9-for-16 from the field before intermission and 5-for-7 from three-point range. Richards finished the night with 34 points, four steals and five assists and is now averaging 23.4 points per game on the season.

The Hawks had 10 more rebounds than the Raiders and shot 50-percent from beyond the three-point line. Northeast led by as much as 27 in the matchup and will now look ahead to their conference opener at home over the weekend.
