COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Senior Ashley Mitchell (Navajo Nation) was named to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Second-Team as announced by the conference office Tuesday.
Mitchell ranks high in a couple of RMAC categories including ninth in assists per game (2.8), 13th in points per game (13) and tied for 13th in three-pointers made per game (1.6). For the season she leads the team in points per game, while also bringing down 4.8 rebounds per contest, 74 assists, a block, 37 steals, a team-high 41 three-pointers, 86 free throws, and a team-high 105 field goals in starting all 26 games. Mitchell scored a season-high 27 points against New Mexico Highlands and has scored 20 or more four times this season. She has reached double-figures in scoring in 17 games this season. She hit a season-high four three-pointers against Colorado Christian. She has led or tied for the team lead in scoring in 13 games this season.
WNMU will open the RMAC Tournament tonight against top seed Colorado Mesa University beginning at 7 p.m.
