The Bryant & Stratton Bobcats cross country program set the mark high in their inaugural season on Saturday at the Region IV Championships, winning the men’s team title and qualifying all athletes for the NJCAA National Championships.
The Bobcat men score 59 points led by Stephen Kiprop with a 2nd place finish. Following closely behind were Jaden Aguino in 3rd place, Brian Kiplagai in 8th, and DeAngelo Herrera in 9th place overall giving the Bobcat men 4 finishers in the top-10l. Rounding out the team score was Fhabian Tellez in 37th. The team easily outpaced the field with a 20 point victory over 2nd place Morton College.
On the women’s side, Bobcat freshman phenom Holly Tsosie continue her dominant run this season with a 2nd place finish and a lifetime personal record of 19:32 in the 5k competition.
The entire men’s team as well as Tsosie will compete at the NJCAA D1 National Championship in two weeks, capping an incredible inaugural team season!
The NJCAA National Championships are set for Saturday, November 9th in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Men’s 8k will start at 11am with the Women’s 5k race to follow at 12pm.
