FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton senior Trinity Ruelas (Ohkay Owingeh Pueblo) was named Big West Conference Women’s Cross-Country Athlete of the Week. The conference announced the honorees on Tuesday October 19th. This is the second weekly honor of the season for Ruelas and third in her career, as she previously won the honor once in the 2019 season and earlier this season on September 7th, 2021.
Ruelas led the way for Fullerton in record breaking fashion at the UCR Highlander Invitational with a time of 20:04.7 in the women’s 6k race to take second overall and first among Big West competition. Ruelas time is now the fastest 6k ever ran by a lady Titan and now holds the school record, previously held by Samantha Huerta.
As a team, Fullerton finished first with a score of 35 points (1-5-7-8-14).
