The Tetons trailed by eight points at the half, but they stormed back, winning the second half by a resounding thirty-two points which ended in a 93-69 victory over Miles Community College. The Pioneers led at the half by the score of 45-37 as they shot over 50% from the field and were a perfect sixteen for sixteen from the charity stripe. The Tetons cranked up the pressure at the start of the second half and it didn’t take long for the Tetons to erase the Miles lead and pull ahead for good. Williston State scored 55 second half points, forced 19 Pioneer turnovers and placed 5 players in double figures in the scoring column.
Canzas Hisbadhorse led the Teton scoring attack with 17 points and the silky smooth sophomore also dished out 3 assists and pulled down 6 rebounds. Taylor Moffat and Cami Harris scored 14 points each and Moffat also dealt out 5 assists. Freshman Allison Kunze had 12 points and Allie Garcia, also a freshman, had 10 as both came off the bench due to Coach Triplett’s decision to start all five of his sophomores. Elizabeth Field and Tilda Mauritzson scored 8 apiece while Alexis Moline and Teah Conradsen each had 5.
The Tetons are now 23-3 on the season and remain at the top of the MonDak Conference with a 16-1 record with four games to play, all of which are away games. The magic number is now just one game for Williston to wrap up the conference title which will earn them a “bye” in the Region 13 tournament and will also make Williston State the site of the tournament.
