DENVER, Colo. – November 22, 2014 – The Fort Lewis College’s Christian Gering (San Felipe Pueblo) finished 15th place overall at the 2014 NCAA South Central Regional Championships Saturday at Washington Park in Denver, Colo. to earn All-United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Region honors. Gering was also one of three individuals from non-qualifying teams to advance to the NCAA National Championship race December 6 in Louisville, Ky. Gering will be competing in his third straight NCAA Championship race next month.
The Skyhawks men’s team scored 268 points to finish eighth overall out of 20 teams, while the women’s team earned 222 points to finish ninth out of 18 teams.
Gering ran the 10K course in 32:54 to place 15th overall. William Scoggins came in second for the Skyhawks and 59th overall in a time of 34:42, followed by Joey Brenner (63rd place, 34:50), Tate Lagasca (64th, 34:51), Ryan Mott (67th, 35:01) and Michael Walker (78th, 35:22).
