TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts women’s basketball team earned their fifth win of the 2024-25 season on Monday, topping the Lindenwood Lions 99-79.

Emily Robinson and Taleyah Jones led the Golden Eagles offensive attack, racking up 21 points each. Robinson went 7-10 from the field and 4-5 from the arc with seven rebounds and four assists while Jones shot 8-14 from the field coupled with four rebounds and two assists. Recently named Summit League Peak Performer of the Week, Jalei Oglesby, had an efficient 16 points on 7-13 shooting to go along with three steals while Ruthie Udoumoh had a quiet 15 point, four rebound performance, going 5-5 from the floor.

Ruthie Udoumoh opened the game for the Golden Eagles, scoring a tough and one layup to open the scoring. Lindenwood answered back with five points of their own until Taleyah Jones caught fire, sparking a 14-0 ORU run. Jones scored nine straight points for the Golden Eagles until Lindenwood found a rhythm. After the first ten, ORU jumped out to a 28-16 lead.

The Lions got hot in the second quarter, outscoring the Golden Eagles 26-18. Despite a field goal percentage of 57.1% to ORU’s 53.8%, the Lions got to the line nine times, capitalizing on seven of those attempts. A once 22 point lead was cut to four in a matter of minutes as ORU headed into the locker room with work to do.

Makyra Tramble triple and two Taleyah Jones free throws helped ORU regain some points, extending their lead to 11 with six and a half minutes to play in quarter three. The Lions clapped back, going on a 10-0 run of their own to cut the lead down to one. The Golden Eagles didn’t quit, closing the quarter on a 10-2 run, in part from four free throws and another Tramble three ball.

The Golden Eagles dominated the final quarter, shooting a staggering 10-16 (62.5%) from the field and 6-6 (100%) from the line. ORU held Lindenwood scoreless from the six-and-a-half-minute mark to the three-minute mark, going on a 13-0 run during that period. Ten points in the final two minutes of action couldn’t save the Lions from the ORU offensive attack, as the Golden Eagles shot a whopping 59.3% on the night, securing a 99-79 win.
