PORTLAND, Ore. – Shooting guard Erin Ramsey (Nez Perce Tribe), a two-year starter for Blue Mountain Community College, has signed to play for Multnomah University during the upcoming 2017-18 women’s basketball season, providing some instant offense for the Lions with her outside scoring ability.
Ramsey, a 5-8 junior, brings an accurate eye to the Lions, as she was an 85% free throw shooter at Blue Mountain. A native of Lapwai, Idaho, she was a Second Team All-League performer for a Lapwai High School state championship team in 2015.
In the classroom, Ramsey was a high school salutatorian and honor student at Lapwai, and transfers to Multnomah after earning an Associate of Arts degree at Blue Mountain. She plans to pursue a degree in Global Studies: Culture and Diversity at Multnomah.
Lions’ head coach Tim Bieri states, “Erin is a phenomenal shooter who has proven she can play at a high efficiency. I’m excited that she and Marquel (Greene) are able to be back together, as they were a powerhouse in high school in Idaho. Erin brings a lot of maturity and joy to our team and we’re so glad to have her as a part of the family.”
The 2017-18 season marks the third season for the Lions as members of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the Cascade Collegiate Conference.
