Hailey Oskey (Oneida) scored 21 points to help lead the Green Bay women’s basketball team over the Wright State Raiders 78-67

GREEN BAY, Wis. – Hailey Oskey (Oneida Nation) scored 21 points to help lead the Green Bay women’s basketball team over the Wright State Raiders 78-67 for their first Horizon League win on Saturday. 

The Phoenix (2-2, 1-1) had two players score in double figures, led by Oskey’s 21, also adding five assists, Brooklyn Blackburn also chipped in a career-high 15 points. Meghan Pingel totaled nine points and three steals.

Green Bay collected 34 rebounds in Saturday’s game compared to Wright State’s 26. Bailey Butler and Blackburn each led the team with five. The Phoenix also cleaned up the offensive glass, turning 10 rebounds into 13 second chance points.

Green Bay forced 15 Wright State turnovers, resulting in 17 points on the offensive end of the floor. Butler led the way individually with three steals.

The Phoenix will travel to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving, taking part in the South Point Thanksgiving Shootout. Green Bay will play Oklahoma State and SMU before beginning December with two consecutive HL road games. The next home game is Thursday, December 16 against Chicago State.
