by Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) sophomore Mikeya Sheppard (Navajo) named as one of the final Continental Athletic Conference Volleyball Player of the Week award winners for the 2022 season.
Sheppard, the Attacker of the Week, had 21 total kills while achieving double digits in that key offensive category during both matches last week. The Tuba City, Arizona, native had 11 kills in a 3-2 win against Graceland University (Iowa) last Tuesday. The outside hitter then had 10 kills in a 3-0 loss to Oklahoma Wesleyan University last Friday.
The CAC’s top regular-season teams are preparing to compete in the conference championship tournament November 11-12 at Florida College in Temple Terrace, Florida. The field includes the host Florida College, defending conference champion Florida National University, Fisher College (Massachusetts), and Haskell Indian Nations.
