Haskell Indian Nations University Volleyball Tops Baptist Bible College in Four Sets

(Lawrence, Kansas) – The Haskell Indian Nations University women’s volleyball team picked up their third win in a row Friday evening at Coffin Sports Complex after defeating Baptist Bible College in 4 sets (21-25, 25-19, 29-27, 25-9)

Coming off a win Thursday evening, the Lady Indians returned twenty-four hours later to take on the Patriot’s who came out and took the first set win. Haskell got back on track behind the performance of freshman Tressa Jim who finished the evening with 19 kills and 9 digs. The third set went to extra points but the Lady Indians would come out on top 29-27. Senior Mary Bighorn also had double-digit kills on the evening with 10 of her own.

In the final set, the Patriots weren’t able to match the Haskell momentum and the Lady Indians finished off the match 25-9. Senior Nakooma Pelt led the team in digs with 20 on the evening and setter Kailey Becenti added 11 digs of her own to go with 36 assist as well.

No rest for Haskell has the return in just over 12 hours to finish off their three game stretch against Missouri Baptist at 11:00 AM at Coffin Sports Complex.
