Haskell Indian Nations University Women’s Basketball a No. 4 Seed in Conference Tournament; Haskell Men a No. 6 Seed

The 2020 Association of Independent Institutions Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships begins Friday, Feb. 28, and is being hosted by Lincoln College in Lincoln, Ill.

Women’s Tournament

Quarterfinal action begins on Friday, with the four winners advancing to semifinal games on Saturday, Feb. 29. A third-place game and championship game will take place on Sunday.

The A.I.I. receives three automatic bids to the NAIA Division II national tournament.

Defending conference champion College of the Ozarks (Mo.) is the tournament’s top seed and will face No. 8 seed Lincoln Christian University (Ill.) on Friday at 8 a.m.

That will be followed by No. 4 seed Haskell Indian Nations University (Kan.) playing No. 5 Wilberforce University (Ohio) at 11:30 a.m.

Then, No. 3 seed Fisher College (Mass.) will be squared against No. 6 seed Washington Adventist University (Md.) at 3 p.m.

Finally, No. 2 seed and tournament host Lincoln will play No. 7 Voorhees College (S.C.) at 6:30 p.m.

Men’s Tournament

Washington Adventist University (Md.) is the men’s tournament’s top seed and will play No. 8 seed Lincoln Christian University (Ill.) on Friday at 1:15 p.m.

Other quarterfinal games will have No. 2 seed and defending champion Voorhees College (S.C.) facing No. 7 seed Crowley’s Ridge College (Ark.) at 9:45 a.m.; No. 3 seed and tournament host Lincoln playing No. 6 seed Haskell Indian Nations University (Kan.) at 4:45 p.m.; and No. 4 seed College of the Ozarks (Mo.) squaring off against No. 5 seed Fisher College (Mass.).

Friday’s winners will advance to two semifinal games on Saturday, Feb. 29.

Games on Sunday, March 1, will determine the third-place team and conference champion.

The tournament’s top three finishers will represent the A.I.I. in the NAIA Division II national tournament.
