MARSHALL, Mo. – The OU women’s golf team competed at the MVC Fall Invite on Monday, Sept. 25 and Tuesday, Sept. 26. The Braves finished fourth in tournament with a two round score of 731. OU shot a 356 in round one and a 375 in round two.
“We are learning every time we go out,” said OU head women’s golf coach Wendell Smith. “Although we struggled in the second round, we can still take a lot of positives away from this event.”
Hope Tsosie tied for fifth, finishing with a two round score of 168. She shot an 80 in round one and an 88 in round two. “Hope had a solid tourney, including a personal best 80 in round one,” said Smith. “She is very close to shooting in the 70s and has been a good leader for our team this fall.”Breana Lowry shot a 92 in both rounds to tie for 16th (184). Britanie Wacoche (Cherokee) tied for 18th, shooting a 91 in round one and a 94 in round two (185).
Placing 23rd for the Braves was Kendra Martin. She finished with a two round score of 194, shooting a 93 in round one and a 101 in round two. Jana Jones tied for 26th with a score of 203. She shot a 97 in round one and a 106 in round two.
The Braves are back in action on Monday, Oct. 9 and Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Stateman Fall Classic held at the Edmundon Golf Course in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
