VALENCIA, Spain – Playing in its second game of its three-game international tour, the Nevada women’s basketball team earned a 60-56 victory over the Valencia All-Stars Thursday morning.
The Wolf Pack led for most of the game, holding as much as a 12-point lead in the third quarter. The Valencia All-Stars though did not let up easy though, making it a one possession game in the fourth quarter. The Pack dug deep though and did not relinquish the lead the remainder of the game.
Sophomore Emma Torbert nearly tallied a double-double, leading the team with 13 points and nine rebounds. Fellow sophomore Imani Lacy also reached double figures, scoring 11 points and newcomer Jacqulynn Nakai (Navajo) notched 10 points after hitting two 3-pointers. Junior LaPraisjah Johnson and freshman Dom Phillips also posted solid outings as they each recorded six points and six rebounds.
Nevada has one more game remaining on its international tour of Spain. The Pack will take on the Barcelona All-Stars this Saturday at 8 p.m. local time in Barcelona.
