Josie Hill (Sisseton-Wahpeton) records her third double-double this season for Chicago State University

Loretto, PA – Saint Francis fended off a late rally from Chicago State to secure a 63-58 victory on Saturday afternoon at the DeGol Arena.

The Red Flash controlled much of the game, leading for over 36 minutes, but the Cougars made a strong push in the final quarter. Chicago State outscored Saint Francis 21-13 in the fourth, but it wasn’t enough to overcome an early deficit.

Airah Lavy led Saint Francis with 18 points, knocking down five three-pointers while adding three rebounds. Harris Robinson provided a key spark off the bench with seven points and five assists, while Yanessa Boyd contributed eight points and six rebounds.

For Chicago State, Josie Hill anchored the team with a double-double, tallying 16 points and 12 rebounds. Aiyanna Culver chipped in 10 points and five assists.

Despite their fourth-quarter surge, Chicago State struggled with efficiency, shooting just 35.9% from the field and 31.6% from deep. Meanwhile, Saint Francis capitalized on strong perimeter shooting, converting 46.7% of their three-point attempts.

Saint Francis improved to 9-14 (7-3 NEC), while Chicago State fell to 3-22 (3-7 NEC). The Red Flash will look to build on this victory in their next matchup, while the Cougars aim to bounce back from another tough loss.
