Karliey Parker (Comanche) Led Coffeyville CC with 17 Points and 5 Assist in Win over #3 NJCAA-ranked Dodge City

Coffeyville, Kan. – Red Raven freshman guard Karliey Parker sank a go-ahead 3-pointer with just three seconds left in the game to lift Coffeyville over #3 NJCAA-ranked Dodge City 63-60.  In the victory, Coffeyville improves their overall record to 13-3 including a 8-3 record in Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) play.

On the verge of cracking into the NJCAA Top 25, The Coffeyville Red Raven Women’s team was hungry for a signature victory to add to their resume.  Enter #3 ranked Dodge City and the table was set for the Ravens to grab just what they wanted.

The game started with both teams looking a little tight early on, however, as the time moved through the first quarter the teams loosened up with the Conquistadors taking the early 14-10 lead to start the second quarter.  The second quarter was played evenly with Dodge City maintaining its four-point lead 29-25 heading into halftime.

In the third quarter, the Red Ravens made up some ground outscoring the Conquistadors 23-16 in the quarter to take a three-point 48-45 lead going into the fourth quarter.  

The fourth quarter was a back-and-forth affair with each team holding small leads throughout the quarter.  Dodge City sank a made free throw with 16 seconds left to tie the score at 60-60.  After turnovers by both teams, Coffeyville called time out with three seconds left to set up their final shot.  On the inbounds play, Red Raven freshman guard Hallie Kitchen passed to an open Karliey Parker just behind the three-point line on the left wing with Parker sinking the game-winner!  Coffeyville had their 63-60 defeat of #3 Dodge City.

Looking at the stats page, Coffeyville outrebounded Dodge City 44-39, fouls were pretty even with 21 for Dodge City and 19 for Coffeyville and turnovers were also even with 19 for Dodge City and 20 for Coffeyville.

Game leaders for Coffeyville included Karliey Parker with a game-high 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists as well as Hallie Kitchen with 13 points and 7 rebounds.  Sophomore forward Karys Washington added 10 points and 8 rebounds while sophomore guard Norika Welch also added 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.
