RICHARDSON, Texas – After pitching strong against Tarleton State last weekend Kelsey Watson (Comanche Tribe) was named Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season by league officials on Monday.
Watson gave the Aggies two wins over the weekend against the TexAnns. In the series opener, she struck out 10 TSU batters and tossed a four hitter, while giving up only two earned runs. She followed that up with a second four hitter with six strikeouts and one run allowed, a solo homer, in the game three victory. She also came off the bench in the final game of the series, going 4 2/3 innings, while allowing one earned run.
In three games, Watson went 18 2/3 innings with 18 strikeouts and a 1.50 ERA. Her 10 strikeout performance in game one was her second best single-game total while at Cameron.
This is the third LSC weekly award for Watson this season and her fourth career weekly honor.
