Meona Feather (Eastern Cherokee) Selected as the MWC Performer of the Week

fter racking up 50 points in two games, Forester women’s basketball player Meona Feather (Eastern Band Cherokee) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday.

Feather poured in 21 of her career-high 28 points in the fourth quarter of Wednesday night’s 90-82 victory over Lawrence University. The sophomore guard shot 5-for-6 on three-pointers in the period and finished the contest 8-for-13 from the field and 6-for-8 from beyond the arc. She became the eighth player in program history to make as many as six three-pointers in a game and her shooting percentage from long range on the night ranks seventh in team annals (minimum five made).

Lake Forest was edged out 92-90 in overtime at Illinois College on Saturday, despite five more three-pointers (in nine attempts) and 22 points from Feather. She shot 7-for-14 from the field on the afternoon.

In addition to scoring 50 points, Feather also grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out nine assists, and added six steals in the two games combined.
