by Dodginghorse is 5-foot-5 Barrel Racer from Tsuut’ina Alberta. Cayda went to Many Horses High School. Cayda went to the INFR Ladies Barrel Racer Finals and finished in the top four in 2021, 2022, and 2023.
She was also on the Calgary Fire 18U AA Hockey Team. While playing, their team took silver in the Provincial Finals.
Dodginghorse did a lot off the dirt. She was a mentor and leader to indigenous youth at the DH Ranch. She is also an ambassador for indigenous youth.
While she is here, she will be majoring in Community Leadership. Cayda is the daughter of Brent and Sonya Dodginghorse.
When asked why she chose Northern he replied “I chose MSU Northern because it is close to home for my family and horses, offering the convenience and support I need. The university provides accommodations for online classes, which allows me to spend the winters in Arizona with my horses. Additionally, the academic program in Community Leadership is a perfect fit for my career goals. The great rodeo coaches at MSU Northern make me feel like family and connected to my Indigenous roots.
