by Chandler, AZ– The CGCC Basketball teams opened up their regular season with a double header against the Benedictine University Mesa reserve teams on Tuesday night.
In the prime time slot, the Women’s basketball team opened up their season with an 87-64 win over the visiting Redhawks. Mya Johnson (Navajo) lead all scorers with 17 points. Taylor Johnson, no relation, paced the team with 12 rebounds and 10 points. Sam Sibbet had a near double double with 10 rebounds and 8 points and the low post tag team presence of Acacia Byaus and Siarra Beck each had 11 points.
