Myabelle Begay (Navajo) commits to the NTU Women’s Basketball Program

Crownpoint, NM – On September 9, 2024, Myabelle Begay officially committed to the NTU Lady Skyhawks basketball team, signing her letter of intent for the 2024-2025 season. Hailing from Fort Defiance, Arizona, Myabelle was joined by her family as she made this important decision.

A graduate of Window Rock High School, Myabelle played at Chandler-Gilbert Community College before transferring to NTU. Driven by her desire to contribute to her community, she will pursue an associate degree in public administration. Her summer work has deepened her understanding of the needs within the Navajo Nation government, inspiring her commitment to making a meaningful impact.

Myabelle shared her enthusiasm for the upcoming season, saying, “I’m excited to play with this new team. There is a lot of potential, and I look forward to working with these talented young women and Coach Aanor.”

The NTU Women’s Basketball team will kick off its season next month with a preseason game against Eastern Arizona College on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Wildcat Den in Chinle, Arizona. The full schedule, featuring games against various colleges and universities across the southwestern region, will be announced soon.
