NBA D-League’s Ben Strong’s (Red Lake Nation) Has Double-Double for Westchester Knicks in Win vs. Erie BayHawks

WHITE PLAINS, December 3, 2014 – The Westchester Knicks (4-3) completed a two game sweep of the Erie BayHawks (3-4) with a 100-94 win today. Today’s 11:00 a.m. contest was the first School Day for Westchester, with a sold out crowd of 2,518.

Seven different Knicks put points on the board in the first quarter, going on a 10-0 run ending the quarter leading Erie 25-20. The two teams traded leads nine times but with a jumper from guard Andre Barrett with 6:12 on the clock, the Knicks took the lead and never looked back. Westchester continued to run up the score in the third quarter, twice besting Erie by 21 points. Erie forward Drew Crawford attempted to make a run for the BayHawks adding 10 points in the last nine minutes of the fourth, but his effort was not enough as the Knicks came out on top.

New York Knicks President Phil Jackson made his first appearance to the Westchester County Center to check out the future Knicks and his team in Westchester did not disappoint.

For the first time in franchise history, two Westchester Knicks pulled off a double-double. Ben Strong  (Red Lake Tribal Nation) ended the night with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Orlando Sanchez added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Langston Galloway led Westchester with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals, and 2 assists. Thanasis Antetokounmpo continued to impress supplying 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. Andre Barrett also reached double digits, adding 13 points and 6 assists.

Seth Curry, the brother of Golden State Warriors guard Steph Curry, was Erie’s top scorer for the second game in a row, finishing the night with 21 points, five assists, and two rebounds. Forward Drew Crawford added 18 points with five rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot, while guard Peyton Siva supplied 14 points, six assists, and three rebounds.
