COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — New Mexico Highlands sophomore guard Jordyn Lewis (Navajo) played big over the weekend in helping the Cowgirls split their final two home games of the season and has been named the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week.
Lewis averaged 24 points, four rebounds, three assists, went 8-for-16 from 3-point range and was 12-for-13 from the charity stripe while playing in 78 of the Cowgirls’ 80 minutes over the weekend. She scored 24 points, hit four 3-pointers and made six free throws in each contest – a loss to MSU Denver on Friday and a win over Chadron State on Saturday.
Lewis leads the Cowgirls and is seventh in the RMAC this season at 14.3 points per game. She also leads the conference in free throw percentage (88.4 percent) and minutes per game (35.3) while she’s seventh in 3-pointers per game (2.4) and ninth in 3-point percentage (35.3 percent).
The Cowgirls close out the season on the road Friday at CSU-Pueblo.
