NM State men’s golf freshman Aidan Thomas (Laguna Purblo) finished as individual co-champion at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate

LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Diaper Dandy!

Freshman Aidan Thomas (Laguna Pueblo) dazzled in first collegiate tournament at NM State Golf Course, claiming individual co-champion honors at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate with a six-under-par 207. His performance helped lead the NM State men’s golf team to a second-place team finish at even-par 852.

Thomas fired a career-best six-under-par 65 in the third round to rocket up the leaderboard on the final day. He and Wichita State’s Dawson Lewis both hit pars on the 18th green to end in a deadlock at six-under-par 207 overall.

Wichita State took the team title, finishing three strokes ahead of NM State at three-under-par 849.

NM State’s fall season comes to an end next weekend. The Aggies will travel to Honolulu to compete in Hoakalei CC Invitational on Oct. 28-30, hosted by the University of Hawaii.
