by Three area PGA of America club pros and one well-known tour pro have been honored recently or received unique certification.
Topping the list is Notah Begay III, who has been named by the Golf Writers Association of America as the winner of its Charlie Bartlett Award. The honor is presented annually to a pro golfer who contributes unselfishly to the betterment of society. Begay founded the NB3 Foundation to battle the epidemic of childhood and Type 2 diabetes and obesity among Native American children. He has raised more than $3.2 million in three years through the NB3 Foundation Challenge at Turning Stone’s Atunyote Golf Club.
